CAF President in Addis Ababa

CAF President Issa Hayatou has said he is entering the race for the continental body’s top job because he believes he will win. The president arrived in Addis Ababa on Monday evening.Hayatou told Afro FM upon his arrival at the Bole International Airport that he wouldn’t have entered the race in the first place had he believed he will lose the election. According to Elias Meseret’s report, he is set to compete with Madagascar’s football boss, Ahmad Ahmad, on Thursday. However many are expecting that Hayatou will lose this election and will be removed from his post after 29 years. The Cameroonian Hayatou said he has managed to increase the number of African countries that compete at World Cups and also registered an increase of countries that play at the AFCON games. But Ethiopia’s Football Federation head, Junedin Basha, hinted that Hayatou may face a stiff competition this time around.
