'Breaking Dawn I' Surpasses $700M Mark in Worldwide Gross

Making its way to be the highest-grossing film in the franchise, 'The Twilight Saga's Breaking Dawn Part I' has already bagged $701 million globally since being released in November 2011.

"The Twilight Saga's Breaking Dawn Part I" continues to score big since it was released last November 18. The vampire movie has successfully grossed $701 million worldwide on Sunday, January 22, and is on its way to surpass the worldwide box office gross of 2009's "The Twilight Saga's New Moon", which bagged more than $709 million. The achievement marks Lionsgate Films and Summit Entertainment's first milestone since announcing their merger last Friday, January 13. franchise has experienced and anticipate the saga's conclusion this November." "Breaking Dawn I" has yet to open in several other big countries, including Japan and China. Domestically, the movie has collected a total amount of more than $280 million. It is still behind "The Twilight Saga's Eclipse", which earned $300.5 million, and "New Moon", which garnered $296.6 million, though. Its follow-up film, "The Twilight Saga's Breaking Dawn Part II", is set to be released in the U.S. theaters on November 16. Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner will return to play fan favorites Bella, Edward and Jacob respectively. (AceShowbiz)
