Jimma University to launch post graduate program in 22 new fields of study

Jimma University in Oromia State said it will launch a post graduate program in 22 fields of study in the coming academic year. Speaking at a relevant workshop, Post Graduate Department Dean and External Relation and Communication Senior Director with the University, Professor Chali Jira said the new courses will be in the areas of agriculture, veterinary science, technology and law, among others. According to ENA, Professor Chali said preparations are finalized to enroll 200 students for the new courses in the coming academic year. The university provided post graduate level training in 62 fields of study in 2004EC academic year, he said, adding, the new program will increase the number of fields of study to 84. University President Dr. Fikre Lemessa on his part said the new fields of study will significantly contribute towards development of the country. (ENA)
